HP Mini 110-4108TU Drivers for Windows XP/7

HP Mini 110-4108TU require lightweight Operating system for the best performance. It is recommended to use windows XP 32-bit or Windows 7 32-bit. If you plan to use 64-bit Operating system I don't think it is a wise choice because this notebook known for suppoting only up to 2GB of RAM. Only install 64-bit Operating system if you can upgrade it to 4GB or above.

All drivers listed here is base on drivers provided by HP, but for windows XP it is not listed on official website but available for download. Here I make a quick list drivers you will need for windows XP and Windows 7.

Install all drivers, except wireless, you need to choose - broadcom or Ralink or atheros (base on your specification).

Acer Aspire 4736z Drivers for WIndows XP/Vista/7/8

Today my cousin sent me an Acer notebook and ask me to check it because it is too slow and often not responding. I found that the system was in complete mess with too many security and registry optimizer program. So I decide to install windows 7 32-bit (fresh install) since it only have 2GB of RAM. I choose windows 7 over XP and Vista because she used to work with windows 7.

Important Notes:

• Acer Officially provide support for Windows XP (32./64-bit) , Windows Vista (32/64-bit) and Windows 7 (32/64-bit) for this model (Acer Aspire 4736z).
• Please Install according to order Given.
• Install all drivers (please read note first! if available)
• Recommended Operating system , Windows XP (SP1, SP2, SP3 all version), Windows 7 32/64-bit Ultimate or Professional (SP1).

Where is the driver version?
Just look at the download link, it contain the driver version with OS compatibility.

Ralink merged with mediatek on January 7th 2013, so you will need to download from mediatek support if you are using ralink wireless for the latest drivers. You also can choose to stick with current drivers because updating to the latest drivers only show slight improvement.

Latest Drivers for your graphic is available on Nvidia and Intel site or just run windows automatic updates.

Acer Aspire One AOD270 Drivers Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1

Acer released Windows 7 32-bit support for this model and the reason for 32-bit is Intel GMA 3600/3650, the important issue about this graphic is it only released to work with windows 7 32-bit. Intel, Microsoft Update and Acer dodn't have support for other OS and it is officially state that this graphic design to work with windows 7 32-bit, not 64-bit. This netbook comes with 1GB of RAM. You need Minimum 4GB RAM to run Windows 64-bit or Other 64-bit OS. I already download and checked the drivers files (except audio and bluetooth - the file size is to big), so I re-make the driver list base on actual compatibility provided by each drivers. Some of them support all there OS (windows XP/Vista and 7). You may notice ACER named the driver x86 which refer to 32-bit system but if you check the drivers it also contain 64-bit support. Lastly to complete the list, I check the vendor website for additional support, example the original LAN drivers only support windows 7 32 and 64-bit. So, I just went to Realtek support site and look for download links for windows XP/Vista/8/8.1. They also list out support for other OS such Linux and Window Server/Media Center.

My recommendation : Choose windows 7 32-bit or Lightweight OS such as Linux Mint

Clean install is not recommended, upgrading form windows 7 is a better choice because windows 8 will analyze current driver and re-install it in windows 8. Sometimes windows 7 drivers works with windows 8 and upgrading from windows 7 will make your work easier because windows 8 will automatically reconfigure the drivers for you. Clean install however require certain steps to install such as right click and troubleshoot compatibility before installation.

Note 3: (also known as Agere/Liteon System 2.0 Soft Modem) - Link taken from Acer travelmate 4740G (it use similar hardware with AOD270 and also list driver for windows XP, the hardware ID match each other). Intel GMA3600/GMA3650 Drivers and Information

Intel GMA3600 and GMA3650 is based on PowerVR SGX545, the difference is GMA3600 clocked at 400Mhz and GMA3650 at 600MHz compare to PowerVR which clocked at 200MHz. We can say that GMA3600 and GMA3650 is not really an Intel GPU but a rebadged PowerVR SGX545.

GMA3600 : Mostly found in the Intel Atom N2600 processor and Atom D2500 models.
GMA3650 : Mostly found in found in Atom N2800, Atom D2550, Atom D2500, Atom D2600 and D2700 Models.

Intel Originally claimed both GPUs support DirectX 10.1 but due to driver issues it only support DirectX 9.0c. This is not a big problem to discuss, because the GPUs itself cannot handle DirectX 10 games very well. Here is simple summary from Windows Experience Index:

You must Install it Manually : (example with picture here)
1. Extract the driver file, remember the extraction folder location. For this tutorial let just extract it to desktop. (you will need winrar or 7zip software to extract it)
2. Open device manager by click start - run - and type devmgmt.msc
3. Right lick on the IGMA 3600 (with yellow mark) and select update driver.
4. Select " no, not this time"and select "advance, install from a list of specific location".
5. Select don;t search I will choose the driver to install.
6. Click Have disk (also uncheck "show compatible hardware if that option available").
7. Click Browse and Point to the driver we extract earlier on the desktop.
8. Select the iegd.inf or iegd, OK and proceed with on screen installation.
9. Reboot after installation finish.

If you know about moded thingy then it is not hard to understand. Base on the driver version, it is originally  for Atom™ N2000/D2000 Series Embedded Media and Graphics Driver (check MSI Driver here - original file). When I look at the inf file changes was made in several part and worth to point out here is at the Localizable Strings section.

Windows 8 32-bit :
Since Intel does not plan to provide updates for this GPU anymore. We can only use Windows 7 drivers which show slight improvement over standard VGA graphic driver which automatically installed by Windows 8.
If resulting in error you need to troubleshoot compatibility (right click on the driver and select troubleshoot compatibility) and set to windows 7.


Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 64-bit Drivers:

Currently Intel and your notebook manufacture site doesn't provide any support for 64-bit. The only drivers that most people use is:

How to Enable Metro UI in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1

Certain Notebook and PC such as 10.1 inch Netbook unable to support Metro UI by default.This is because 10.1 inch Netbook maximum resolution is 1024 x 600 where minimum requirement for Metro UI is 1024 x 768. So in this tutorial we will make changes to Registry Editor which will improve your Maximum resolution required to run Metro UI.
