So, if you are asking does Intel provide support for Windows 8/8.1 for this chipset? the answer is yes but you must use Windows Updates in order to install the drivers in Windows 8.

Acer didn't release Windows 8 support for this model. So, if you want to upgrade to Windows 8, please upgrade from windows 7 to windows 8 and avoid fresh installation. If you are using Windows XP/Vista or other operating system you may need to do fresh Windows 8 installation. Now for the drivers, since ACER didn't provide the drivers for windows 8, we must get the driver from the device Vendor itself:

Note : You can also try your windows 7 drivers in windows 8, I believe some of the will work. You can install using compatibility mode or manual installation. If you have a good internet connection, run windows automatic updates, it will install the latest driver available.
